引用百度百科中对WordPress的介绍，WordPress是使用PHP语言开发的博客平台，用户可以在支持PHP和MySQL数据库的服务器上架设属于自己的网站。也可以把 WordPress当作一个内容管理系统（CMS）来使用。WordPress是一款个人博客系统，并逐步演化成一款内容管理系统软件，它是使用PHP语言和MySQL数据库开发的,用户可以在支持 PHP 和 MySQL数据库的服务器上使用自己的博客。WordPress有许多第三方开发的免费模板，安装方式简单易用。不过要做一个自己的模板，则需要你有一定的专业知识。比如你至少要懂的标准通用标记语言下的一个应用HTML代码、CSS、PHP等相关知识。WordPress官方支持中文版，同时有爱好者开发的第三方中文语言包，如wopus中文语言包。WordPress拥有成千上万个各式插件和不计其数的主题模板样式。
因为这是我自己的亲身经历，在接触WordPress之前，我使用过帝国CMS、JSP+Servlet开发过数个网站。帝国CMS的优点很多，包括安全性高，二次开发性强等。JSP+Servlet的开发方式则由一个人完全包办了前端、后端、数据库。优点是可以轻松实现许多功能，缺点是安全性低，容易被SQL注入等方式所攻击，且代码模块性不强。
而WordPress本身自带非常强大的后台，因此开发者只需专注于前端界面的开发，同时WordPress的主题商店提供无数的主题供选择，因此甚至0基础的学习者也可以快速建站。
1.进入WordPress中文官网，下载最新版WordPress。
2.推荐使用XAMPP集成服务器环境。
3.安装过程非常简单，一直点击下一步即可。
4.解压已经下载好的WordPress，然后找到XAMPP的根目录，将解压后的WordPress文件夹中的内容复制粘贴到xampp/htdocs中（这一步是为了后期访问的时候URL地址去除WordPress，这样URL地址更为美观）。步骤如下图所示。
5.打开浏览器和XAMPP控制面板，进行数据库的相关配置。操作步骤如下图所示。
